Mr. S.M. Seneviratne joined the Archaeological department in 1949 as a draftman and subsequently promoted as the chief draftman and Assistant commissioner of Archaeology dept (Architecture Division) during his 35 yrs carrer period.
He extended his valuable service over Archialogical conservation, renovation, escaration and many other national services with dedication during the era Archaelogical commissioner of Senarath paranavithana to Roland Silva's era.
His distingwished nature is a part from the duty that he serviced to the nation with self induced love and faith for the country has proved history.
Some of his archivements are as follow
1) Designed the serprene symbol of sri lankan rebublic government logos.
2) Many important arts duplicate such as Dambulu Viharaya paintings, Thivanka shine house, Dhegaldoruwa, Hindagala, Kelani Viharaya and handed over to the depatment.
3) Co-Conserration project with Mr. Luciano Marranzi, Who was specialised in the subject and cleaned the world farmous Sigiri Arts drawing, continues and hand worked months in order to conserve them for future.
4) Designing logos of Archaeology dept, Village headman state dept of Archaeology, Sriptorium (Muniment), University of Colombo and many more as a free and voluntary service.
5) Designed golden fence of "Sri Maha Bodiya"The sacred "Bo" tree in Anuradhapura.
6)Recirculated plan of Kirivehera in Kataragama.
7)New pagoda of the Mihinthalaya Anuradhapura.
8)Reconstruction of Twinponds up to the level of today from a mess of stones.
9) Architectured plan of John De Silva Theatre-Colombo
10) Coverpage paintings for the books of "Upulvan devalaya" Devundara and many books written by proffesor Senarath Paranavithana.
11)Designing logos of Urban councils of Dehiwala/Mount Lavinia and Kottikawatta, Mulleriyawa.
12)Drawings and notes inputs for the "Sinhala Uluwahu" ,"Thivanka pilimageya" Sinhala Door frames.
13)All the drawings for the book "Old ceylon patterns" of proof T.U.D. Silva.
14)Designing of stamp for the department of Immigration & Migration.
15)Designed the added "Bo" leaves -4 nos- to the existing Sri lanka flag.
16)Designed of District flag -Mannar.
17)Mr. Seneviratne has gifted more than 2000 sketches, drawings of paintings, carings, sculptures, statnes shines of all carrer of the county.
18)He deposited them in the state Archaics.After reiment he has been conducting Art class for children over twenty years since 1981.
